Individual Development Accounts (IDAs), which provide matched savings deposited into a designated account by low-income people, have had a huge impact in moving individuals and families out of poverty. According to a recent Federal Reserve Board consumer survey, nearly 10 million American households do not use any aspect of the banking system. IDAs, provide matched savings deposited into a designated account by low-income people, have had a huge impact in moving individuals and families out of poverty. Several thousand program participants have purchased homes, started businesses or paid for education costs.  This webinar will explore the opportunities and risks in creating an IDA program in your Community Action Agency.

Creating employment opportunities can have a substantial positive impact on communities and Community Action Agencies are well positioned to become a strong conduit for growing job opportunities by utilizing community economic development tools.
